International Buddhist-Muslim Joint Statement
Shared Commitment of Action

Bangkok, Thailand | 16 June 2013

Buddhist and Muslim leaders from South and South East Asian countries including India, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, have gathered in Bangkok, Thailand to address
escalating tensions between two communities and potential spread of hatred across the region. The
consultation was co-organized by the International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB), the
International Movement for a Just World (JUST), and Religions for Peace (RfP).

Incumbent continue to rule the country and get more states. Chinese control the business and their opposition party won a lot of seats. Alhamdulillah TDM safe, his party continues to rule the country and his son is the Chief Minister of the state BN successfully wrestled back.
For the Rohingyas…and Muslims of Myanmar here…Zero, nothing.
In Myanmar, Muslims are killed, tortured, assaulted, burnt alive, looted, shops destroyed…. about two hundred Masjids destroyed, hundred Mosques and mardersas closed down, Qurans burnt…
I could understand when Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indians ignored us.
But Malays almost totally forgot us. They have pre and post GE Fever.
Damaged burning Masjids and torn Qur’ans never moved them.
It is a shame that Indonesians, Christians and EVEN JEWS are protesting the Religious cleansing of Muslims in Myanmar but Malay Muslims are in silent mood.

Strongly condemn hostilities against Burmese Muslims

1. Under U Thein Sein’s government, Muslims in Burma have been targeted animosity and hostility to unprecedented level, in the form of distributing malicious pamphlets, disseminating of hate speech videos, organising public sermons by extremist monks which fanning enmity and hatred wide spread.

All Muslims around the world should take action on Qur’an burning by Myanmar Radical Buddhists

Appealing to world Muslims to take action on the Myanmar Government for failure to control this kind of INSULT on Qur’an and ISLAM.

This is not an INTERNAL AFFAIRS of Myanmar but INSULT on all the Muslims around the world.

Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysian in ASEAN and Muslims in Thailand and Singapore must take action on U Thein Sein‘s government.

OIC must press UN to investigate Myanmar Leaders for failure to take action on this kind of Cyber activities, TERRORIST 969 group and Wira Thu led Extremist Terrorist monks.

Religious Sermons were delivered by the Monk U Wirathu in the evenings from 7 to 9 pm for three consecutive nights from the 20th to 22nd of April at Me-baung Monastery in Pha-An township, Karen State: and through these so-called sermons, instead of preaching, only anti-sentiments against Islam were propagated. As the loud speakers were used during the sermons to raise the voice, all the residents around heard what he was saying very well.

Burma’s government has rejected calls for an international inquiry into recent waves of anti-Muslim violence, following media reports that the world’s top Islamic body would request to send a delegation to the country to discuss the unrest.

“In my opinion, recent conflicts inside the country are [Burma’s] internal affairs,” government spokesman Ye Htut told The Irrawaddy on Thursday, adding that the government had not yet received a formal request for access from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Ye Htut, who is also Burma’s deputy minister of information, said the government had taken good care to handle religious tension and violence against Muslims in the Buddhist-majority nation.
