I remember the 49th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin the first human cosmonaut

My youngest son came to my clinic to help me by sending my car for servicing. Suddenly I asked him whether he knew about today’s anniversary on 12th April. I told him that I read that news 49 years ago and that news stimulate me to have a keen interest and shaped my early life. He was so surprised and even told my wife about my ‘good’ memory. But I have to admit that I am never a genius and just only have a selective memory.

On 12 April 1961, Yuri Gagarin, Soviet cosmonaut, became the first human in outer space and the first to orbit the Earth.

Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin (9 March 1934 – 27 March 1968), Hero of the Soviet Union, was a Soviet cosmonaut. On 12 April 1961, he became the first human in outer space and the first to orbit the Earth. He received medals from around the world for his pioneering tour in space.
