Islamic terrorists in Indonesia have a new target after militant godfather Abu Bakar Bashir threatened holy war against the Buddhists of Myanmar.

Just hours after the threat was reported on radical site Voice of al-Islam on Thursday, two men were arrested carrying pipe bombs on their way to the Myanmar embassy in central Jakarta.

The report quoted Mr Bashir, who motivated the Bali bombers in 2002, saying Myanmar was conducting genocide against Rohingya Muslims in the Arakan state in the country’s west, and that jihad was the only solution.

“These events are all due to our own mistakes because we don’t want to do jihad,” Mr Bashir is quoted as saying. “The Muslims in the Philippines are strong because they want to do jihad.”

The leader, who is serving a 15-year jail term on terror offenses, called upon Indonesia’s “Mujahideen,” (fighters of holy war) to destroy Myanmar as they had destroyed the communist USSR by throwing them out of Afghanistan.

“With the permission of Allah we will treat you and your people just like (we treated) communist Russia, which has gone to pieces, or just like America, which will perish soon (God willing),” he is quoted as saying.

“The Buddhist teaching of love is just a nonsense because in reality it is the Buddhists who have slaughtered the Muslims of Rohingya.”

On Thursday night, Indonesia police arrested two men who were allegedly carrying five home-made bombs, as they made their way towards the Myanmar embassy.

Two others were arrested later after anti-terror police raided a property in South Jakarta and seized more explosives.

Police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said those arrested were seeking revenge for the treatment of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

At least 200 Muslims were killed and more than 125,000 chased from their homes in the Arakan state of Myanmar last year. Human Rights Watch accused Rakhine Buddhist groups of instigating the violence and the state authorities of failing to intervene.

On April 5, eight Buddhist fishermen were killed in a clash with Rohingya Muslims at a detention centre in Sumatra, Indonesia, after the Buddhists raped and harassed three Muslim women.

Minkyawaung Aung Jihad ” If Anyone killed an innocent it would be as if he had killed the whole mankind . And who saved a life would be as if he had saved the lives of all mankind” ( Al-Quran 5:32)

Jihad is the struggle to invite to(all that is ) good , enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.(3:104)

It is the Duty of Muslims to struggle for PEACE , JUSTIC and TRUTH through complete submission to ALLAH

Nay Aung Kyaw Islam is against killing of innocents, non combatants, women and children, even against destroying environment during the war. Place of worships are not allowed to destroy even during the war and also against mutilation of enemy. POW are also not allowed to be killed.

Ko Ko Gyi I agree with all of my good Muslims friends. Although I do not agree to revenge and terrorism, I REFRAIN from stopping or denouncing them or praise them or invite them. As Myanmars led by Thein Sein-Min Aung Hlain-Daw Suu-969 Terrorists are BULLIES who just know the power come out from the barrel of guns and majority they should be AT LEAST THREATENED back by the same rank of people. Then only they will be scared (I hope so) and behave back as normal human beings. I will never join those terrorists whether Muslims or Buddhists. I believe and love our Prophet’s (peace be upon him) teaching, “The ink of the scholar is more sacred than the blood of the martyr.”

Ko Ko Gyi To stop all those atrocities of the majority Buddhists, we Muslims need to react in various responses. Some persuade them, some work together with monks, Buddhists, government, NLD…some opposing them, some need to brainwash them back or debrief them, some to give Human Right Education….but if some of our brother choose to oppose virulently by UG (Under Ground), rebellion etc…I will try to persuade not to use back terrorism BUT if they are stubbon and willing to risk AS THEY ARE PUSHED TO A LIMIT by Myanmar terrorists…what to do? Just pray for all the Muslims and good innocent non-Muslims Myanmars to be safe. Those terrorist Myanmars or even who fail to stop the Buddhist TERRORISTS would just have to face their Karma or ၀ဋ္လည္ျခင္း …Even if Daw Suu choose to openly oppose those 969 atrocities, most of the Myanmars would listen. Even if Bama Buddhist Military accused her as Kalama, friend of Muslim…before 2015 election people would have to turn back to her. Although she is the leader of RULE OF LAW, she failed to protect the victimized Muslims. Real leaders must shape the opinion of the people. If she is scared of diminishing support just act in the movie or try to become a Zat Thama to get love.

Nay Aung Kyaw Extremism exists in every underdeveloped human’s mind. The point is when this extremism turned into violence, those who are responsible should be punished according to the law. The problem in Burma is there is extremism of Majority Buddhists against minority Muslims, which has already turned into violence to the extent of genocide and religious cleansing! And they do not use the Law for Muslims/ or the Law is there but kept hiding when come to atrocities against Muslims. Democracy in Burma should be given the new name Bigotcracy of Burma.

    Hi Dr. KKG,

What’s your opinion regarding this crime ridden bigoted terrorist’s call for jihad against Myanmar. Don’t forget if there’re response from his call, bombs will kill lots of people, including Muslims. The trouble is while calling world’s attention regarding the awful stage of Myanmar’s internal problem of racial unrest and miserable scourges, what’s the point of placing this felon’s call for jihad in your blog post? You want him to create chaos in your home country?

    Your reader/patient
