I used to tell my Rohingya and Chin friends to regard their fled as blessing in disguise from God. If they continue staying in Burma they would be poor farmers and fishermen there w/o progress. Even if Burma progress and prosper, the development would not go their place. Now they have chances to be in developed countries. May be God has a better plan for them. A Christian Chin cannot become the head of gov and military but their great grand children, God willing, could become world leaders in the future, if they are capable.
About blessing in disguise from God, Tar Tar Mongols invaded Turkey, Iran, Egypt up to Palestine. Massacred 2.5 million men an boys. Took their wives and daughters. At that time those Muslims were corrupted and there was a moral decay there. I think God destroyed those bad Muslims…and their wives and daughters converted their new husbands into Islam. Present Central Asia Muslims/Russian/Chinese/Indian/Pakistan/Afghanistan/ are descendents of them. We Myanmar Muslims also got some blood and religion from them. I wish to state that the conqueror Mongols were conquered.
The above was in response to my dear friend Dr. David Law‘s comment>>> There are Armenians spread out all over the world, even in Burma. E.g., there is an Armenian church in the eastern part of Rangoon. In California, there used to be a governor, Deukmejian. In the present day, there is famous model star, Kim Kardasian, and other famous Armenians. This is because of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian Holocaust in Turkey. They had to escape all around the world. Likewise the Irish and the Scottish (well, not exactly the same situation) …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. Years from now, Insh’ Allah, Rohingyas will be as famous and prosperous as Armenians, Jews, and other refugee peoples. My grandfather was a Hakka Chinese who fled from China and settled down in Myaungmya to marry a Karen woman……………………………………………………………………………. Hakka Chinese have no Ethnic State like the Fujian long-sleeves or the Cantonese short-sleeves or the Yunannese, etc, etc. Like the Rohingyas, the Hakkas lost their homeland long ago in some of these terrible Chinese civil wars. . . . . . . ………………………………………………………………………… Dr. Ko Ko Gyi . But we all learned to survive and thrive. The important thing is to learn and pick up the techniques from each of these peoples and take what might be useful and discard what is not useful.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has continuously urged the Burmese government to act in order to prevent tragedies such as the recent capsizing of a boat containing 70 Rohingya Muslims who were fleeing the country this past weekend. Many are presumed dead. The Burmese government, however, not only continues to ignore direction from UNHCR and other esteemed UN bodies, but is also complicit in the cyclical targeting, exploitation and denial of rights of the Rohingya. We demand an independent international investigation into this heinous ethnic cleansing! http://bit.ly/12grbKx
“It is unacceptable that people are driven by such desperation into life-risking journeys, often falling into the hands of ruthless smugglers. UNHCR stands ready to assist the government of Myanmar to address the root causes of this outflow, including seeking ways to resolve the statelessness of the Rohingya population,” a UNHCR spokesman reiterated.
David Law 100 years ago in Turkey, the Turkish people were killing off the Armenians in a genocidal campaign. One of the techniques involved loading boats full of Armenian men, women, and children and then towing them out to sea, and then capsizing them, letting them drown. In their case, it was no accident. It was intentional and multiple events. This was in the year 1915. There were other techniques, too. Nora Rowley Ko Ko Gyi Khin Mgoo Perhaps we could gain some useful lessons from the Armenians on how they coped and learned to survive. …. and lessons from the Jews, too.
TQ Dr David Law…I am sorry for the above history. I hope the Turkish leaders nowadays realized that historical crime committed on Armenians. In world history there were alot of genocides committed by different time even sometimes victims metamorphosed into bullies. So Humanity is urgently needed. I am glad that non-Muslim friends like you, Dr Maung Zarni, Dr Nora Rowley and numerous Christian, Buddhist and even Jews are helping us nowadays. Bravo, TQ all. Dr Nora had given me a link yesterday which I shared in my blog @ https://drkokogyi.wordpress.com/2013/11/06/the-plight-of-the-rohingya-united-states-holocaust-memorial-museum/
