OIC chief on meeting with Rohyinga cries

YANGON: The secretary general of the worlds largest bloc of Islamic countries says meetings with members of Myanmars long-persecuted Rohingya Muslim community — chased from their homes by machete-wielding Buddhist mobs — brought him to tears.
Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu made the comments as he and other members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation wrapped up a four-day visit to the country Sunday that included talks with the president, ministers, interfaith groups and U.N. agencies.
But it was the huge, emotional crowds living in trash-strewn camps outside of Sittwe — where streets are now all but devoid of Muslims — that made the biggest impression. “I’ve never had such a feeling,” he said. “I was crying.”

“ဒုကၡသည္စခန္းမွာ မေန႔က က်ေနာ္တို႔ေတြ႔ခဲ့တာနဲ႔ပတ္သက္ၿပီး က်ေနာ္တို႔ရဲ႕ အေတြးစိတ္ကူးကို ေျပာျပပါတယ္။ ပံုမွန္ အေျခအေန ျပန္ေရာက္ေအာင္ လုပ္ေနတဲ့ အစိုးရရဲ႕လုပ္ငန္းစဥ္ေအာင္ျမင္ေစဖို႔ က်ေနာ္တို႔ ဆုေတာင္းေပးပါတယ္။ ဒီမိုကေရစီ ျပဳျပင္ေျပာင္းလဲေရးဟာ အင္မတန္ခက္ခဲၿပီး စိတ္ရွည္သည္းခံမႈနဲ႔ ဂ႐ုတစိုက္ရွိဖို႔ လိုတယ္လို႔ က်ေနာ္တို႔ ထင္ပါတယ္။ တစ္ခ်ိန္တည္းမွာပဲ မတူကြဲျပားတဲ့အစုေတြၾကား ဆက္ဆံေရးကို ပံုမွန္ျပန္္ျဖစ္ေအာင္ လုပ္ဖို႔လိုပါတယ္။ ရခိုင္ျပည္နယ္မွာ ပဋိပကၡကို ေက်ာ္လႊား ႏုိင္ေအာင္ ျပည္နယ္တစ္ခုလံုးကို အကူအညီေပးခ်င္တယ္ဆိုတာ ေျပာခဲ့ပါတယ္။
မတူကြဲျပားတဲ့ လူမႈ အ၀န္းအ၀ိုင္း ႏွစ္ခုအၾကား ယံုၾကည္မႈတည္ေဆာက္ဖို႔ လိုတယ္ဆိုတာကို က်ေနာ္တို႔ ေျပာခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ဒါဟာ အင္မတန္ အက်ဳိးရွိတဲ့ ေဆြးေႏြးပြဲျဖစ္ၿပီး သိပ္ ေအာင္ျမင္တဲ့ခရီးစဥ္လို႔ က်ေနာ္ထင္ပါတယ္။”
သမၼတဦးသိန္းစိန္က ဘာေတြ ျပန္ၿပီး ေဆြးေႏြးခဲ့တယ္ဆိုတာကို OIC အတြင္းေရးမွဴးခ်ဳပ္က မေျပာပါဘူး။ သမၼတ႐ံုးကို ဆက္သြယ္ေမးျမန္းတဲ့အခါ တနဂၤေႏြေန႔မွာ ေၾကညာခ်က္ထုတ္ျပန္မယ္ဆိုတာကိုပဲ ေျပာခဲ့ပါတယ္။ OIC ကိုယ္စားလွယ္ အဖြဲ႔ဟာ ၾကာသပေတးေန႔က ရခုိင္ျပည္နယ္ စစ္ေတြနဲ႔ ေမာင္ေတာၿမိဳ႕နယ္ေတြက ဒုကၡသည္စခန္းေတြဆီ သြားေရာက္ၿပီး ႏွစ္ဘက္စလံုးက လူပုဂၢိဳလ္ေတြနဲ႔ ေတြ႔ဆံုခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အဲဒီေတြ႔ဆံုမႈေတြကေန သူတို႔သိခဲ့ရတာကို အတြင္းေရးမွဴးခ်ဳပ္က အခုလိုေျပာပါတယ္။
“တကယ့္အစစ္အမွန္္ ျပႆနာ ဘယ္ကလာတယ္ဆိုတာကို က်ေနာ္တို႔ ေတြ႔ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ဒီလူေတြဟာ ရာစုႏွစ္ေပါင္းမ်ားစြာ ၾကာေအာင္ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းစြာနဲ႔ လိုက္ေလ်ာညီေထြစြာ ေနထိုင္ခဲ့ၾကတာပါ။ ၿပီးခဲ့တဲ့ႏွစ္ကျဖစ္ခဲ့တဲ့ ရာဇ၀တ္ျပစ္မႈ ဆိုင္ရာ က်ဴးလြန္မႈေတြကေန အေျခအေနတစ္ခုလံုးဟာ လူမႈအ၀န္းအ၀ိုင္း ပဋိပကၡဆီ ကူးေျပာင္းသြားခဲ့တာပါ။ က်ေနာ္တို႔နားလည္ခ်က္အရ ဒါဟာ အစၥလာမ္ေတြ၊ မူဆလင္ေတြနဲ႔ ဗုဒၶဘာသာ၀င္ေတြ အၾကားမွာျဖစ္တယ္ဆိုတဲ့ အေၾကာင္းျပခ်က္ ဘာမွမရွိပါဘူး။ အဲဒီျဖစ္ရပ္ေတြဟာ တရား႐ံုးတင္ ေျဖရွင္းရမွာ ျဖစ္ၿပီး လူမႈအ၀န္းအ၀ိုင္းႏွစ္ခုအၾကား ေနာက္ထပ္ အၾကမ္းဖက္မႈေတြ မျဖစ္သင့္ပါဘူး။ ဒီလူေတြၾကားမွာ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းစြာ ျပန္ၿပီး အတူယွဥ္တြဲေနထိုင္ႏုိင္ေရးအတြက္ က်ေနာ္တို႔ ကူညီ လုပ္ေဆာင္သြားဖို႔ ဆႏၵရွိတယ္ဆိုတာ ေျပာခဲ့ပါတယ္။”
႐ံုးဖြင့္ဖို႔ကိစၥဟာ နားလည္လြဲမႈ အမ်ားအျပားေၾကာင့္ ေျပာဆိုရတဲ့ ကိစၥတစ္ခု ျဖစ္လာတာပါလို႔ အတြင္းေရးမွဴးခ်ဳပ္က ေျပာပါတယ္။ တျခားလူေတြကို တိုက္ခိုက္ဖို႔အတြက္ OIC အဖြဲ႔က မူစလင္ေတြ ကို ေငြေတြေပးေနတယ္ဆိုတာမ်ဳိး မွားယြင္းတဲ့ သတင္းေတြကို ယံုၾကည္တဲ့လူ အနည္းစု ရွိေနတယ္ဆိုတာကို သူက ေထာက္ျပၿပီး ေတာ့ သူတို႔အေနနဲ႔ ေငြတျပားတခ်ပ္မွ ေပးမေနပါဘူးလုိ႔ အခုိင္အမာေျပာၿပီး လက္ရွိအခ်ိန္မွာ OIC ႐ံုးခြဲဖြင့္လွစ္ဖို႔ မရွိပါဘူးလို႔ ဗီြအိုေအကိုေျပာပါတယ္။

OIC Secretary General visits camps in Rakhine State, Myanmar
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and his accompanying delegation from seven member states visited on Friday, November 15, 2013, the camps of internally displaced peoples (IDPs) in restive Rakhine State, Myanmar. The OIC delegation listened to Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims giving them a message of assurance that the OIC seeks to help both communities in order for them to live together in peace and harmony.
Myanmar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Union Minister of Border Affairs, both of whom and other officials had briefed the OIC delegation before the visit of the Government’s efforts of resettlement, accompanied the delegation’s full-day tour of three camps in the state’s capital of Sittwe and the town of Maungdaw. Chief Minister of Rakhine State, who welcomed the delegation upon arrival, also joined them in the tour.
Throngs of Rakhine Muslims, mainly from the Rohingya community, lined the dusty roads cheering the OIC delegation and welcoming it.
In his dialogue with members of the Rakhine Buddhists, Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stressed over and over again that OIC is not a religious organization and was not in Myanmar to spread Islam or to help Muslims solely, but to help all community members affected by violence without any discrimination.
He also emphasized on the need to build confidence and trust in the community and that OIC is willing to contribute towards achieving that.
Ihsanoglu and the ministerial delegation prayed at Thabuchaung Mosque where thousands of worshipers surrounded them in warm welcome and joy at seeing them. Ihsanoglu spend time listening to their grievances and expressing support and sympathy.
