There is a popular saying in Burmese…A sa..Shwe Ba Nar Mae..”At First “Shwe Ba” will suffer…but wait and see..HE WILL WIN over the villains.
In 50’s and 60’s Shwe Ba was the most popular movie star amongst the 80% of Burma’s rural population. He was so loved by the viewers that according the plot of movie, the villains used to have an upper-hand and and tortured the Shwe Ba. Movie audiences were always angry and tried to help Shwe ba by throwing with what they have: slippers, stones, “Pyaung-phu-yoes or left over corn stems etc. and damaged the silver-screen.
So the producers need to put the large bold sub-titles that at first “Shwe Ba” will suffer…but at last he will win.
This became a popular saying in Burmese…A sa..Shwe Ba Nar Mae..”
IRONICALLY that movie star Shwe Ba is a MUSLIM.
I wrote the above in response the posting below..
