Open letter to my beloved Luyechun friend, EMG boss Dr. Than Htut Aung

LYC1

The following is my comment under my beloved Luyechun friend friend, EMG boss Dr. Than Htut Aung‘s article.

I have argued with General Ne Win’s Socialist Party Central Executive Committee member U Min Htwe at the Outstanding Student Camp about the RULE OF (Just and Fair) LAW is important and taking sides blindly is wrong.

It was 1966; I was just 16 years old. General Ne Win’s Socialist Party Central Committee members who were in-charge of Youth Affairs or Lan Zin Lu Nge were always there to mould or brainwash the young bright LYC students.

Their oratory skills were very good but they landed into trouble when they invited us to discuss at the intervals between the lectures. Because they were encouraging us to dare to stand up and talk in-front of the public and were even telling us that they were going to give marks according to our ability, I used to discuss or dispute some of the facts they presented.

U Min Htwe was lecturing us about the world history. He told us that in Capitalism, when there were any disputes between the employers and workers, employers would be always right. So in the Socialist system whenever there were disputes, the workers must be always right. This kind of taking side with the workers is always fair and just. He keep-on proclaiming loudly that the TAKING SIDE with workers is always right and repeatedly asked us, the audience LYCs whether this taking side is just or not. Most of the LYCs just keep quiet but some replied yes. I shouted loudly that in any dispute taking side is never right. He was quite annoyed with my answer. He asked me for clarification. I stood-up and replied that in the Socialist System we need to made rules, laws and regulations to protect the workers’ rights.

If there were any disputes we should not take sides but need to judge or decide according to the law. That is Rule of the (just) law. I was 16 year only at that time and he was the Socialist Cadre from the Party’s central executive committee but few of his fellow comrades watching also could not rebut me till I convinced. The discussion was just stopped as truce, neither side give-up the stand.

But you could judge from the Ne Win’s Burma Socialist Programme Party’s action of shoot to kill the workers, peasants etc when they dare to oppose them. Their doctrine of workers are always right was no more valid any more.

Now this Rule of Law is frequently used as a lame excuse by our beloved Daw Suu for her inaction but anyway it should be set as a gold-standard benchmark for any democracy.

In Rohingya issue, if I closed my eyes and blindly supports them because of the same religion I would be wrong. I support your earlier stand of, “it may be wrong if not taking side but standing neutral between right and wrong” is correct and I support you. You have rightly said, “ဂ်ာနယ္လစ္တစ္ေယာက္အေနနဲ႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ့္မွာ “ဘက္”မရွိဘဲေနႏုိင္ေအာင္ ႀကိဳးစားပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္ အမွားနဲ႔အမွန္၊ မတရားမႈနဲ႔ တရားမႈ၊ ဓမၼနဲ႔ အဓမၼအၾကားမွာေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ၾကားမေနႏုိင္ပါဘူး။”

But I think that your stand below against the Rohingya is totally wrong.

Each Rohingya’s citizenship must be determined by the government according to JUST and FAIR Myanmar Laws and must be conformed to the United Nations accepted International norms. No one should just accept or oppose them because of their feelings of love or hatred or fear.

But your EMG had done a lot of injustices and damages by inciting the flame of hatred causing Rakhine riots to grow because you have taken sides. We cannot blame you as you could also accuse us back that we also sided with the opposing side.

Because of my stand on FB Myanmar Military affiliated cyber troopers attacked me with blatant lies and Myanmar Government unfairly punished me by blacklisting my Passport. But I took it as a blessing in disguise. If not I won’t apply for Malaysian citizenship as I  keep on paying income tax for 26 years because I never wish to denounce my citizenship.

Rohingya issue is regarded by UN, UNHRC, HRW, AI and ICC as Crimes Against Humanity. In the history, even Journalists and propaganda writers could be pulled to International Criminal Court and punish accordingly after due process of ICC laws.

So I hope and pray that you could forget or ignore your personal feelings of Rohingya-phobia in the future and report the news as it is to avoid EMG being labeled as YELLOW JOURNALISM and facing ICC prosecution.

You are right in saying this, “ဒီလိုအေျခအေနမ်ဳိးေတြမွာ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ေတြ တတ္ႏုိင္သေရြ႕ လူတိုင္းက အလုပ္လုပ္ဖို႔ေတာ့ လိုအပ္တယ္။ စည္းကမ္းရွိဖို႔ေတာ့ လိုလိမ့္မယ္။ ကိုယ့္ကိုယ္ကိုယ္ သည္းခံဖို႔လိုမယ္။ ထိပ္တိုက္ေတြမတိုးဖို႔ လိုမယ္။ ဟုတ္တယ္မလား။ ကိုယ့္ရဲ႕ Personal ခံစားမႈေတြ ေမ့ပစ္လိုက္ဖို႔လိုမယ္။”

Dear Dr. Than H Aung I have wrote the above because of your following request, “This interview was in Feb 2013, please discuss about personalization.”

Please kindly allow me to clarify that I am not a Rohingya. I hope that my dear Dr. Than H Aung’s EMG could change its stand and help the, ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ႏိုင္ငံရဲ႕ အမ်ိဳးသားျပန္လည္သင့္ျမတ္ေရး၊ ေျပလည္ေရး” which should not only focus on (Military) Government Vs NLD, Bamas Vs Ethnic Minorities but should also include the prevention of religious riots and incessant spread of Islamophobic Hate Speeches.

If you don’t mind, please may you kindly read the article written by my friend အတီး ဝါးလုံးရွည္ “အဝါေရာင္ ဂ်ာနယ္လစ္ဇင္ ႏွင့္ အနာဂတ္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ”
