These archives would one day shed light on Darwin’s as well as my student days

March 23, 2009

Forgive me or you could call me a megalomaniac if I claim that may be these archives would one day shed light on my student days as well as Darwin’s.  I will write about my student days later here.

First of all I wish to thank my mother, late father, late two grand-mothers, late grand-father, and many relatives who persuaded me to read medicine or apply for the medical field because I was  brain-washed by Dr Nyi Nyi, Deputy Education Minister, Geologist to study pure science. He promised Kyat 200.00 monthly (quite a lot of value in 1960’s as we could buy a brick big house in central Mandalay with a couple of dozen of thousands only, jeeps and lorries with about 10,000 only and the rental for a double story wooden house facing the street was Kyat 70.00 only. And we could get one Pyi equal to about eight condensed tin milk of rice with 1 or 2 Kyat. Because the prise increase of the rice to Kyat 5.00 there started riots during General Ne Win’s time.)

I do not have this gift of high IQ or photographic memory like this boy

March 19, 2009

I do not have this gift of high IQ or photographic memory. My secret of success or getting high scores or marks is work hard, persistent, start early, perseverance, use all the time without waste, read again and again to understand the meaning, try to associate with the other things I already learnt by compare and contrast method and search for the cause and effects because of the facts I read inside that paragraph or sentence. I hate procrastination and want to read or learn as early as possible instead of postponing to a later date or time. I try to search for the most important points and meanings of the paragraph.

Give enough time for revision, prepare the old questions, think about the possible unexpected new questions and try to answer from the point of view different from others. I used to have good enough sleep before the exams. The most important thing is to pray regularly, ask the divine help, believe in God and go to the exam hall with confidence as if I have to show off the examiners with my skills. Of course I would always be nervous or scared a little bit but keep on praying, revising and hope for the best results with full of self confidence.

My late grandmother, late father together with my mother, brothers, sister, uncles after our father’s youngest brother’s wedding in Taungoo. That groom, our aunt passed away last year. One of their son was at our house in KL planning to re-entre Singapore for the job interview.
