Moderate Buddhists should come up strongly to condemn what extremist personalities and groups are doing in Myanmar

Practise what you preach

Moderate Buddhists should come up strongly to condemn what extremist personalities and groups are doing in Myanmar

ULTRA nationalist groups and religious extremists, by themselves, are bad enough, but when brought together by a common agenda, you have the most potent brew possible.

These elements always fight in the name of country, race and religion. Tolerance and acceptance are not in their vocabulary, and they justify their ends with the most intolerant means, never mind that we all believe that all religions preach about peace and harmony.

It’s very simple – politics have no place for religious figures, especially when they come dressed in their full religious regalia.

We need a more tolerant and balanced society

May 29, 2015

Mahatma Gandhi said it best with the following quote:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”

Therefore, we must move towards a developed and cohesive mindset. To reach developed nation status, Malaysia needs a more tolerant and balanced society that will yield optimal productivity in the workplace. – May 29, 2015.

Why do people hate migrants?

May 29, 2015
BY Syerleena Abdul Rashid

When a racial riot broke out in southern Italy sometime in early 2010, the mindless attacks on African immigrants prompted Pope Benedict XVI to respond by reminding people that, “an immigrant is a human being, different in background, culture and tradition, but a person to be respected, and possessing rights and duties”.

Malaysians tend to get emotional when such issues arise and share the same concerns with the rest of the world when it comes down to how we feel about migrants.

George Orwell predicted the “Memory hole” in the Rohingya and Myanmar Muslim histories

May 15, 2015

George Orwell predicted the “Memory hole” in the Rohingya and Myanmar Muslim histories in his “Nineteen Eighty-Four” book written in 1949.

NO ROHINGYA in Myanmar history,
NO MUSLIM before English Colony,
no Muslim in Burmese political struggle…..
Previously they had unsuccessfully tried to delete General Aung San and General Tin Oo (NLD) from Tatmadaw history….

May 15, 2015

My late father used to tell us that he always obeyed his parents (My grandparents) .

I cannot accept nor understand when my dear Pa Pa said that he would never argue back his parents even if they told him that the white paper is black or vice versa, the black paper is white.

When older…I just think that …may be if apparently white paper could be unclean (may be the parents knew) or the black paper could be a CLEAN paper. Actually my wishful thinking because of my love of my late father…

U Aung Tin:
