Malaysia Wants Myanmar To Address Violence Immediately

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) — Malaysia has urged the Myanmar government to take immediate action to address the ongoing inter-communal violence in the country.

This was voiced by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman in a bilateral meeting with Myanmar‘s Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin on the sideline of the 46th Asean Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM) in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei which commenced yesterday.

A statement from the Asean-Malaysia National Secretariat, Foreign Affairs Ministry here said Anifah conveyed Malaysia’s concerned on the ongoing violence, saying it had also affected neighbouring countries, including Malaysia.

He also urged the Myanmar government to take necessary measures to bring the perpetrators of violence to justice in a fair and transparent manner.

Memo Myanmar ke Wisma Putra

MEMORANDUM : Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) to United Nations was sent again to Wisma Putra or MOFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.

I hereby attached the picture of their discussion and hand over memo to Foreign Ministry specifically to Mr Khairi Omar Undersecretary Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam & Oceania Division.

They are trying to pressure Malaysia NOT to repeat the same mistake at UN like this.

Why did Malaysia, Brunei and many Muslim countries vote against this UNGA resolution?

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MALAYSIA ON THE DEVELOPMENT IN RAKHINE, MYANMAR

Malaysia has reaffirmed its support and willingness to offer assistance to Myanmar in relation to the recent unrest in the state of Rakhine in Myanmar. Malaysia has also conveyed its deepest sympathy to the government and the people of Myanmar over the ethnic conflict in Rakhine, and expressed its confidence on the ability of the Myanmar government under the leadership of HE President Thein Sein to end the conflict. The establishment of the Investigation Committee, declaration of the State of Emergency as well as cooperation extended to the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser for Myanmar genuinely demonstrated Myanmar’s desire in resolving the situation.
