Some issues in peace and violence

In the aftermath of September 11 when President Bush visited the Islamic Center of Washington DC, both to reassure the Muslims in America and to create public awareness against prejudice, he remarked: “The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace.” Of course, Bush is, first and foremost, a politician and therefore his remarks should be taken with a grain of salt – actually, a lot of salt.

Comment: This is a very good news for our cousin brother Rohingyas. If the Arakan Muslims and Panthay (Burmese Chinese Muslims) could be the origin of the Manipur Indian Muslims and they stayed with the Magh people (the Arakanese nationalities known in Bengal) Mag…hs_
The border between the two countries appeared later in history and you all could not be alien to any of the two countries….

I now put briefly about the history of Manipuri Muslims, Pangals who are acculturated to the Meiteis in various aspects.

‘Pangan’/’Pangal’ is a word derived from ‘Bengal’, from where most of the Muslims came between 1550 AD and 1690 AD. And neighbouring history is also referred to for a better grasp of idea.

Eidgah or Idgah (Urdu: عیدگاہ) is an open-air mosque usually outside of city (or at the outskirts) to perform Eid salah.

It was a practice of Prophet Muhammadsawa to perform Eid Salaah in Eidgah at the outskirts of the city. Hence, It is Sunnah to perform Eid Salaah at the Eidgah.

The very first Eidgah was at the outskirts of Madina nearly 1000 footsteps from Masjid-e-Nabawi.
