On 20th January 2013, at about 9:15 am, near Myo Ma Market in Pha-ann (Capital of Karen State), young monks and youths wearing T-shirt with the printed Burmese words meaning “Organization for Protecting and safeguarding Race and Religion”, scrutinized the Buddhists who bought goods from Muslim shops and asked them to return the stuffs back to the Muslims. One of the incidents was – when they found a Karen ethnic had bought zinc roofing sheets from a Muslim shop, they threatened him and asked him to return those back to the shop and purchase only from the non-Muslim shop. Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Taoism etc religions are all good. But some governments and Bigots are using the Religion so that exploit others. Once Brainwashed with religion, many followers are ready to kill others and they are even willing to sacrifice their lives for their beloved religion. Even not a very religious persons could be converted into religious warriors (e.g Jihadist or Crusader) by the cooperation of religious leaders and political leaders. People are like ‘brainless’ sheep just follow their leaders. It is important to have Hate Crime preventing laws and Racial discrimination laws in all the country and UN should guide the political leaders about the Peaceful coexistence of different races and religious groups. I agree with you ဧရာဝတီသား who wrote in The Voice Weekly.. Now it is seemed as Thein Sein is just a puppet as a PR personality to lie the world and people of Myanmar so that Military could rule and exploit Myanmar forever.
U Thein Sein should just copy the FORMER Senior General U Than Shwe in arresting Ne Win, Khin Nyunt and removing Saw Mg…If he and good Generals combined and remove the hardliners from Military and gov, Daw Suu led NLD and ALL the people of Myanmar including Ethnic Minorities would support him. Myanmar could progress, prosper and peaceful…Do it Mr President arrest the HARDLINERS immediately.

This is murder. Arrest those murderer monks who committed the cold-blooded atrocity on the old man coming back from morning prayers. The man was assaulted because he cross the road while the terrorist monks were walking for morning bagging for food.

My friend wrote to me: OIC ကို ၀ိရသူက ဆႏၵျပ ဖို႔ မနက္ျဖန္ ၁း၃၀ စီစဥ္ေန တယ္ၾကားပါတယ္
Congratulations U Wira Thu…for proving that U Thein Sein is bluffing the whole world that Rakhine conflict is not Religious nor Racial Conflict.
You R attacking Islam and OIC and Thein Sein gov just keep quiet.
I am not a Rohingya but a Myanmar Muslim.
I understand that most of the people around the world are easily brain washed into hard mentality by the governments and politicians. e.g. U Wira Thu led Rakhine and Bama Monks. And Islamophobia is a trend by most of the Myanmars virtually on line or in the real world scenario. Herd Mentality or mob behavior of U Wira Thu, some monks and most of Myanmars is due to successive military governments’ Islamophobic brain wash propaganda. (more…)
