Stop the next Rwanda

Please sign the petition To Prime Minister David Cameron and President Francois Hollande:

As citizens deeply concerned about the ongoing violence in Burma, we call on you to press the Burmese President to urgently protect the Rohingya using all means necessary, and grant them citizenship and full legal rights when you meet with him this month. We urge you to insist he implement such measures and tackle the impunity of aggressors to stop the violence as a condition of improved trading relations. You have both spoken repeatedly about the need for early action to prevent genocide and crimes against humanity — now is the time to live up to those words.

Is Myanmar another Rwanda genocide in the making? March 31, 2013

The events of the last two weeks in Myanmar bear considerable similarity to events a little over 19 years ago in a country that became synonymous with the abject failure of the UN, and defined the word “genocide” for the 20th century – Rwanda.

Signs of Coming Genocide in Burma?

May 9, 2013

TQ KO SAI LATT and THE IRRAWADDY editors. Although the No. 8 Stage of Genocide is still a denial after the genocide, you have rightly said that there is a denial at the present by every personality from both side of political divide and even from the democratic world. Kindly allow me to add an interesting new phenomena in Myanmar which made me to think about adding two more stages in the Internationally accepted “8 Stages of Genocide”.

“No 9th. Stage of Genocide”: blaming the victims = government, some Myanmar/Rakhines, 969 group and Government are blaming Muslims of Myanmar (Rohingyas and Myanmar Muslims) for those mass murders in Rakhine and Meikhtila.

“No 10th. Stage of Genocide”: asking the victims to apologize. This is promoted by 969 U Wira Thu, online Myanmar Military Government cyber-troopers, Mandalay Chief minister U Ye Myint and people in the inner-circle of U Thein Sein’s Government.

Is Myanmar going down the drain?

June 29, 2012

In my point of view, it’s yes and it’s going down very fast. Moreover, many people ignore to prevent and protect those who are pushing Burma down the drain and it’s likely being seen in the arena of Burma politics, many more are consciously or unconscious, directly or indirectly supporting it. Those pundits of politics who always like to point out whether things are politically correct or not are also surprisingly silent. This is not a good omen.

President U Thein Sein and Daw Suu should not ignore nor condone the spread of Hate letters

April 21, 2012

The following HATE letter writer, publisher (not my Muslim friends who made known to us) , distributers and the authorities who fail to take action are LEGALLY LIABLE to be charged in ICC International Criminal Court with Crimes against Humanity.

Now please kindly read the Eight Stages of Genocide to know that this kind of HATE letter is not accepted by the International Community, United Nations and ICC International Criminal Court.

I believe that the persons who allegedly endorsed and supported this pamphlet failed to understand the nature of the Democracy, Human Rights and the seriousness of the Crimes against Humanity. Authorities should educate all the citizens without ignoring this kind of HATE CRIMES.

Genocide is defined as “the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group”.

legal definition is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as “any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.” From Wikipedia
