DECLARATION REGARDING QURBANI FOR 2012.

(All the people of the world)
AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM WARAHMATHULLAH WABAR KARTHU.

1. All the Religious in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar are enjoying freedom of worship and it is provided in the Constitution.

2. Muslims in Myanmar have been observing QURBANI peacefully with the permission of successive governments every year.

3. This year muslims in some regions of Arakan State have been facing with lootings, burnings and destructions of their homes, persons and properties, destroying religious buildings. There is no security yet. Also in certain states and regions. There are new restrictions being imposed regarding QURBANI. And also in Karen State-Pa An, Mon State-Mawlamyaing and Mandalay. Some non-government organizations have been insulting Islam and Mulsims and pamphlets are also being distributing and agitating against muslims and their by. They are opposing existing laws and infringing human rights problems.

4. All Myanmar Islamic Religious Organization has written and informed the Union Government about a foresaid problems but still we have not get received any reply today.

5. Although we have every rights and permission by the Government and under prevailing provisions of laws to do QURBANI, we decided to suspend QURBANI regrettably throughout the country because we presumed that the Government could not provide us with effective security.
